Welcome to the official website of the Limerick Lions Basketball Club – home to Limerick’s Superleague side. The Limerick Lions Superleague team play all their home matches in the stunning University Arena, which can accommodate up to 2,500 roaring Lions fans. The ‘Jungle Kings’ compete in the Southern Conference of Basketball Ireland’s Nivea for Men Superleague from October thru March. As well as the senior team, the club also has an extensive underage programme with teams competing from under 9’s right up to under 20’s level. Launching in 2008 the Limerick Lions are fronting a Division 1 team, meaning that the club now has two senior men’s teams due to the increased interest in basketball in recent years.
