Limerick Lions men’s basketball do battle with visitors Neptune at the UL Sports Arena on Saturday 10th Nov with a 7.30pm start. Both teams have had mixed starts to the Nivea for Men Super League and both will be eagerly chasing the win on Saturday night.

Limerick are searching for some consistency in their on court performance in the early part of the season. Last weekend they travelled the long journey up the country to Jordanstown in Belfast and were disappointed with their performance in a game that Belfast Star won with a strong last quarter. Limerick will again rue getting into foul trouble early in the 4th quarter which opened the door for a confident Star to finish them off.

Lion’s Coach Matt Hall said We got into some foul trouble and this seemed to get us down. Some players also got tired in the 4th quarter in Belfast and part of this weeks work is to push on our match fitness. We all know that the majority of games will be decided in the last few minutes and you must be fit and ready to battle it out down the stretch.

Neptune will be tough to beat as they have a lot of quality players. Our task will be to match them in every position and play a hard, competitive game. We need to stick to our game plan and execute the basic skills of the game in a confident manner. By doing this I believe this is a game we can win. I know Neptune will be thinking along similar lines, and I suppose, like a lot of head-to-head games, the team that wants it most will win it. Hopefully that will be Limerick Lions.

The game starts at 7.30pm, Sat 10th Nov at UL Sports Arena, and supporters will be able to watch Munster Rugby on the big screen in the UL Sports Bar, and then come over to the Arena in time to catch all of the Lions basketball game an excellent sporting double header!
