On Sunday May 22nd 2022, ten teams travelled to Laurel Hill & St. Clements gym to take part in
an U12 tournament hosted by Limerick Lions. The games were exciting, the atmosphere was
electric and the talent on show was incredible!
Limerick Lions had entered two teams, Limerick Lions White and Limerick Lions Blue and both
teams show great potential for the future. The Limerick Lions Blue team met the tournament
winners in one of the pool games and were narrowly defeated by 7 points.
We had teams from Nenagh Warriors, Glen Cruisers, Clare Cascaders, Springfield,
Dromcollogher, Ballybunion Wildcats, Titans, Galway and St. Annes Flyers, Farranfore, Co.
Kerry.
The boys represented themselves and their clubs very well on the day and each of the
team’s coaches & managers should be so proud of these young lads.
Ballybunion Wildcats and St. Anne’s Flyers made it to the final and there was some great
basketball on show during the final. St. Anne’s took the winning spot with Sean Og Griffin
securing a very well deserved MVP.
Well done to all the players, coaches, team managers and thanks to the parents, referees and
volunteers for making the tournament such a success.
Definitely more of these to come in 2022/23 season!
